If you want a 40-ounce bowl that stays in place, go for pink; they are stuck. I liked the idea of a larger bowl that snaps into place, but both metal bowls I received wobbled when they snapped into the bracket. If you are using it for a dog or an animal that only drinks/eats from it it probably doesn't matter but my parrot likes to stand on the rim of the bowl and he won't do that as it is unstable to stand. So I had to use 40oz plastic bowls instead (the granite colored ones don't fit exactly like the smaller Lixit bowls ALSO, I have to wonder why they messed up the design of the larger bowls). Poor design in creating a metal to plastic connector for these shells. Oh and I wish they would make clear plastic versions of this plastic bowl this size and attach the loose fitting snap mount.
