Appearances can be deceiving. This densely packed brick turns into a TON of substrate. I opened the pack, placed it in a small empty plastic trash can (the size you use for a bathroom) and added the recommended amount of water. I put it in the garage for the night and when we woke up = BOOMMMMM! A trash can filled with fluffy, high-quality substrate for our hermit crab tank. With a bag of substrate sand and a container full of this product, it's perfect for a 10 gallon glass aquarium for our hermit crabs. Excellent purchase.
