This is a really good alternative to a large colander if you're short on space. We use it on our boat and it has a shelf life when half open (about 4-5 cups) or fully extended (about 8-9 cups). The rim and the bottom are made of stainless steel and are of good quality. The small grips even have a silicone insert to keep you cool. It folds down to exactly one inch deep. It's about 11 inches wide at the handles, so I put it in the closet next to our pots and it takes up almost no space. I'm ordering another one for our friend's boat. By the way, I ordered it from Revain and paid full price. The reviewer who gave it one star seems crazy about business, not screen.
