Review on ๐Ÿ”’ Enhance Safety with Hawk Performance HB561Y.710 LTS Brake Pad by Dave Calabro

Improved brake feel compared to original pads

Last summer I started having brake vibration and shaking on my car so I replaced the original brakes. New centric rotors (premium front) with Hawk LTS pads. The Hawk LTS pads have greatly improved brake feel and performance over the original pads I had on my 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. LTS pads make modulation easier. brake and apply less pressure to the pedal to achieve the desired braking effect. I changed the brake discs and pads about 6 months ago. Despite lubricating the back side of the pads, I recently heard brake squeal from one or more of the rear pads. I disassembled, cleaned and applied anti-squeak CRC (instead of the standard caliper lube) between the Hawk supplied seals and pads and at the caliper pressure points right at the rear of the car and it completely eliminated the brake squeal. If the front brakes make noise I will do the same. Before building, it's a good idea to tweak the CRC a bit. Going forward I will be using CRC material instead of standard caliper lube for pressure points because it's sticky (pun intended) and will continue to use standard caliper lube on the caliper guides and grooves. In short, LTS pads absolutely need squeak protection. Trouble and can dust a little more (although not too dusty) than the ceramic that was on the car, but I'll settle for improved braking over OEM pads any day. Would buy again.
