Review on DEWALT 18V 20V Adapter DCA1820 by Aravind Joshi

The adapter will drain your 20 volt max lithium batteries if left in the tool

My problem is the DCA1820 20 volt max to 18 volt XRP adapter. All other 18V XRP lithiums are fine and can sit in their dock for months with no discharge in or out of the instrument. I'm sick of dancing with you guys [Dewalt Tech]. I can't be the only one this happens to. The 20 batteries only drain when connected to the DCA1820 and an 18 volt tool. The 20V Max DCF887 driver will never fail sitting on the bench. These adapters have what looks like a diode and I think that's what drains the batteries over time. Batteries must not be stored connected to the adapter. If the battery is discharged below a certain level of charge, it cannot be recharged (this is known as "undervoltage"). We recommend disconnecting batteries from everything when storing them so they can hold power longer. No other tools I have [Bocsh] Lithium batteries will discharge if left in dock. Dewalt has a problem they can't solve. I am very unhappy as I went back and forth with these guys 10 times until they sent me the above lame excuse. Revain's web descriptions do not mention battery drain as an issue. 20V lithium batteries fail after 2 weeks when connected to an adapter. No more dewalt for me.
