Oh my god, that makes the dirty work easier! I have memories of making valves when I was younger and valve springs and retainers jumping all over the room. This made the job so easy that after installing the new seals I actually put the retainers back on a valve with the safety straw on the valve stem. It's just as easy to take apart and pull out again. Just apply plenty of lube to everything to avoid contaminating the threads.
