The idea with a single folding tool is great. However, the connector insertion tool is not normal. It has a closed end, like the eye of a needle, so you have to insert a strand/strip of bacon and then pull it back and then cut it off. A regular tool is basically a fork, so it just goes in and out. Also for this tool you need special narrow bacon strips / string. Also, part of the purpose of the mucus tube is to lubricate the entire process. I don't want to puncture a tire to try everything dry.
