Review on 🔧 OEM Ford Spare Tire Mounting Hoist for 6C3Z-1A131-AA Model by Darth Naubert

Don't be fooled by a cheap Dorman POS product that's $20 cheaper than this one. Been alone, worked twice, then contacted and failed. Should have paid an extra $20 for it the first time! Just installed that today. The quality is excellent, it rises and falls very gently. It is NOT keyed which means you don't need a special keyed anti-theft device to attach to the end of the pole like was the case with the standard units. At this point you can simply thread a regular rod through the guide and start spinning. As already mentioned, the bearing pins do not go through holes on this one. It doesn't matter much. It sits on top of the supports between the frame rails and is prevented from moving by a pair of protrusions. The 2 bolts are only for holding it in place and do not provide any assistance to raise or lower the spare tire. I took some long 1/4" x 1" bolts with some washers and a nut and they worked great. Overall great product, it took 10 minutes to install and collect my replacement part.
