Review on Versatile and Reliable: General Tools 1271M Arch Punch for Precise Hole Cutting by Paulo Heisler

Revainrating 5 out of 5

There's a right way and a wrong way to use these

First of all I like: -Good price -Sufficiently strong metal -The paddlewheel on mine was perfect from the company -Good size Dislikes now: -Welding left a lot to be desired - It was poorly packaged so the courier dropped it over the fence and it landed on the blade and banged on it - The inside of the blade was not finished so the sharpness decreased Problems and solutions from previous ratings: 1. The reviews showing the tool broken or broken made me think seriously about the reliability of this product. However, knowing that welding isn't perfect, I decided to use a 1 pound rubber mallet and used a 2x4 piece of wood cut into two short pieces and then an artistic carving backing on top of it. I was able to slice through the black foam closer to the wetsuit which is about 6mm thick with ease and with a jab down the center to dig in, 4 jabs at a slight angle in four directions and then one down the middle finish and I was able to cut 40 in 7.5 minutes. **Note: I used a Dremel sharpening stone to make the inside cleaner and sharper. The trick is to stabilize the dremel's hand by placing your forearm on a table or something similar and holding it rigidly at the right angle pointing to the center of the cutting hole and doing the same with your left hand while doing this Hold tool and move in circles Rotate blade. The sander gently goes around it like you're sweeping a surface because it's easy to sand on the second of the two settings on the basic Dremel. Don't let the Dremel ruin the blade's perfect circumference. *** WEAR GOGGLES to look closely and avoid getting sparks or metal splinters in your eyes. If this gets enough votes I'll add pictures. Bottom Line: With proper use and cleaning if necessary this thing is awesome and I'm very glad I ordered it and might even get another one as a backup for my clumsy tendencies (I might drop it on my garage floor and screw it up). blade or something)
