Review on 💽 Seagate IronWolf ST12000VN0008 12 TB Internal Hard Drive - SATA 600, 7200RPM - High Performance with 256 MB Buffer by Mike Bucher

The discs came from Revain in perfect packaging. See photo. Each in its own little box with shock absorbing legs. Then in a large box with bubble wrap. I bought 4 of these drives and installed them in a RAID 5 configuration in an enclosure. Disks passed 3 certificates in SoftRAID with no errors. I have this case next to my computer and I can barely hear them working. They don't seem to warm up at all and I put a lot of stress on them. These drives in this configuration with a Thunderbolt 3 connection have almost the same fast read speeds as my internal hard drive. I've always used WD drives so I was nervous about switching brands, but so far so good. Revain's excellent price and Seagate's 3-year warranty are also nice. December 17, 2018 - A drive has an excessive number of bad sectors after only 830 hours of operation. The RMA process with Seagate is confusing as you never speak to a person. I've never done an RMA with anyone before so I'm not sure how long it will be before I get a new CD.
