Big for cat's mouth but so is a human hand

I feel like this is pretty big for a cat's mouth. My cat, who wants to bite everything, had no idea what to do with this. It's rubbery feeling, like the old school water bottles, although I will say it's very durable. I would have liked a smaller or at least thinner toy.or a less picky cat.
