Review on πŸ”Š Instapark IN07A Water Leakage Detection Alarm and Sensor - Battery-Powered, Stand-Alone with 130 dB Sound by Curtis Sherman

Seems to work well but there are some pros and cons

Received this to have early warning that my AC condensate drain line is clogged and the sump is overflowing onto the floor and carpet. Pros: Easy to install and produces a loud high-pitched signal that is sure to alert you to a water leak or other build-up. I placed it at the base of the air conditioner to signal the first drops of condensate overflowing. It takes about 1/32 inch of water to operate, which is good to warn you in advance. Cons: Very thin plastic case that needs to be attached to something with a suction cup or an adhesive pad. The suction cup is small and weak and will not stick to anything no matter how clean the surface. The sticky pad lasted about five minutes before the sensor came loose. I ended up using velcro to attach it to the air conditioner. There is no switch and the instructions say the alarm will stop if you take it out of the water. It didn't stop for me and I had to dry the sensor after testing for it to stop. It would be nice to turn off/on the alarm clock. Directions are very brief and don't say much. It tells you to put the battery in, but not how to open the case. You need a screwdriver on the end with two protrusions. It is very difficult to make and not break the fall. This gave me two small screws which I believe should secure the case. They are not needed as the case is VERY narrow anyway. You need a powerful 9V battery for everything to work properly. The battery is cheap, unknown brand and I tried using Energizer instead and the alarm just clicked and gave a constant low battery tone. . This product should be slightly improved in design, have better written and illustrated instructions, stronger suction cups and stronger sticky pads. Velcro straps like the ones I used would be nice.

Pros
  • A year long trial
Cons
  • Vulgarity
