It was great until it was good

I bought it in April 2021. About 3 weeks ago, water dripped into our pan. Yes, this alarm has been raised and please let us know. But later, when I drained the line and everything was back to normal, this thing wouldn't stop beeping. I thought there might be some kind of reset but I haven't found it. Took the 9 volt battery out thinking it might reset it. But it did not work. Threw it in the trash. For this reason I do not recommend this water detector to anyone.

VERY LOUD (and difficult to open to stop the noise)

I got one of these because we had a leak sometimes and I wanted to know about it when it happens, not later. The good news is that it really lets you know. The bad news is that it's very painful to shut down after startup. They say 130 dB I believe. It's so loud you can't hear yourself and wonder why you can't quickly open it to shut out the noise. Finally, we left the case open so we could quickly close it when it's working.

Saved our house twice!

We originally got this device to see if it would work to alert us when our tanks were leaking or rupturing. They didn't work for this purpose because the aquarium room has a carpet and needs to drain too much water before the alarm sounds. However, we put it in a utility room in the basement and it alerted us that we had to fix water leaks in the house twice, which probably saved us a lot of money. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is how deep the water has to be for this to work. It's…

It works and the price is right!

Works as advertised. Pretty sensitive to water. What I learned: It looks like there are screws on the lid. no The screws are not installed yet but in a small package inside the block where you install the battery. Screws are not required. Because the water sensor was mounted in a white, flat plastic holder, the alarm didn't stop when it was taken out of the water. When the sensor was removed from the plastic holder, the alarm went off immediately. I left it without the plastic mount. The…

Need a button to turn off the alarm

I have a new aquarium so I wanted to be safe and bring these with me just in case. And today when I was cleaning the canister filter the disaster happened and of course the alarm went off loud and clear! But after everything was wiped, the alarm continued to sound considering how difficult it was to open the battery cover. I ended up smashing the device on the floor and breaking the damn thing out of desperation! Not recommended as you can't just turn off the sound. When you're dealing with a…

Works and is LOUD in water detectors and alarms

Just received this but repeated testing on the kitchen sink has worked every time. Just make sure ALL water is removed from the sensor between tests or the alarm will not stop. I installed this with Gorilla Tape in a new pan which I also just received in the return air section of the heat pump to detect an overflow in case the condensate pan full sensor clogs again. When this happens, it's a big mess that goes unnoticed for days and wets the surrounding carpet. Hopefully with this sensor and a…

Saved me from another mess!

We had a backup channel but we never found the source of the problem. I put this unit under the washing machine where the water came out first in case it happens again. It was the only appliance I could find that would fit under the washing machine. Of course an alarm sounded at 6:15 and we had another problem. I discovered the problem early so there was no harm. We found the source of the problem and fixed the sewer line, but just in case, I use the device. The only downsides were that it was…

Seems to work well but there are some pros and cons

Received this to have early warning that my AC condensate drain line is clogged and the sump is overflowing onto the floor and carpet. Pros: Easy to install and produces a loud high-pitched signal that is sure to alert you to a water leak or other build-up. I placed it at the base of the air conditioner to signal the first drops of condensate overflowing. It takes about 1/32 inch of water to operate, which is good to warn you in advance. Cons: Very thin plastic case that needs to be attached to
