***Update: I walked into a hotel and it was MUCH more secure than just a built in door lock and deadbolt. I was afraid it wouldn't fit based on other reviews but it did and the door didn't move. Now it's a must for me when I travel in hotels and airbnbs (been in one, didn't have a lock before). Get this if you're traveling alone, but only install it when no one is around. It can be noisy and it will take some time to frame it, close the door and secure it. ***Original Rating: This works best for doors that don't have a handle next to an adjacent wall. I found it difficult to keep this in the door gap while still leaving room to close the door with an adjacent wall in the way. It may take some time to figure out which side fits the door gap and if the metal plate fits the door. castle in general. It's also possible that the lock is too thick or too thin for the door. For that reason I don't recommend using this when people might benefit while you figure it out. I haven't tried it as a hotel so I can't say if it works for their locks. All in all it works and can be a useful tool for those who travel. I would also add a clasp or replace the key ring that connects to the metal plate. You will need to change where the lock attaches to the metal plate depending on which side you are using and the included key ring may stretch with changes.
