I used this plucking machine for the first time when handling chicks. I helped with it as a child, but never did it myself. My husband and I wanted to do something simpler than hand plucking but didn't want to invest in a massive barrel plucking for only 5 birds. So we bought that. Overall my experience was pretty good. Pros: - It seems well made and fit for the job. - Can be easily used by two people, one works with a drill and the other rotates the bird - almost all feathers can disappear in 30 seconds or less. Cons: - I don't see how you could do it yourself, even if it's attached to the table. I feel it would be too difficult to rotate the chicken while maintaining a constant speed. But it could also be my drill. Because of this, a lot of my skin has cracked. But then again - I'm a beginner so I may have overcooked the chicken in a double boiler. The pickers are not to blame. Overall I would recommend it to anyone with more than 5-10 birds. This saves time when processing large quantities and justifies the price of a small hobby farm. I will definitely use it again in the future.
