Many variations

Pros: I received my DVD drive today and hooked it up to my laptop. It loaded quickly and was up and running in seconds. I have played several music CDs and DVDs that I own. He seemed to play very well. "Seems" strong. It claims to be made of aluminum alloy but looks like plastic to me. But we'll see how long it lasts as I don't plan on using it that much so I'm hoping it will last. The drive was packed very well in a very tight box so it couldn't move at all. Cons: LOTS OF INCONSISTENCE WITH PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS. The product name says USB 3.0, the description says USB 3.1 and 1 sheet of paper that comes with the player says USB 2.0. So I'm very confused as to what type of USB this device actually has. Photos of the device show a stiffer case, but it's actually a thin, soft fabric case. The downsides aren't a problem as the player does what it says on the tin, it plays discs and is ultra-portable (which will be sitting at home anyway). I don't have blank DVDs or CDs to test the writing capability, so I can't comment on the features included in what the device claims to be capable of. UPDATE: When I listened to my audio CD, the unit said it was playing. the last two or three tracks on some of my CDs, but they're not. When I tried to rip these audio CDs, it ripped two or more tracks and then it said it ripped but didn't rip anything. I've tried troubleshooting by trying different CDs, restarting the computer, and unplugging and reinserting the DVD drive. None of the solutions solved the problem and I am initiating a return of this device. There are many others on the market that are cheaper, especially as this unit is a bit more expensive I expect slightly better performance.
