Many modern computers have eliminated the ability to burn discs to be thinner. I recorded hundreds of songs on my CD and used them in my car. My old Toyota doesn't have Bluetooth. I've switched Bluetooth to wireless in the past and I'm always easily disturbed by outside signals. But the old Toyota has a CD player so I can listen to good music. No more tolerating fuzzy FM signals.

I really like the DVD drive. Now I can listen to my CDs on my Mac and upload music to iTunes. As I mentioned in the title, it's simple - no instructions are required to operate it. Just connect to your Mac and it will open automatically. The Drive also comes with a nice carry case making it very fashionable and safe to take with you.

The first drive I got took discs and read them perfectly, but when I tried to eject the disc the drive made a noise like it was trying to push some kind of latch and reload the disc the ride. Pros: I received my DVD drive today and hooked it up to my laptop. It loaded quickly and was up and running in seconds. I have played several music CDs and DVDs that I own. My setup is a 2017 iMac with macOS 10.14.5. After doing some testing with both powered and non-powered USB3 hubs, I found that the stable connection for my needs was the USB3 port on the back of the iMac (works on a powered hub, but my cat kept playing with it ). I'm really dissatisfied and this is the second USB-C Super Drive I've ordered. The first one is from a different company but I swear they were made by the same company.
