Review on COFAIR PRODUCTS DFB375 Barrier 2 Pack by Mardrequs Dorsey

Revainrating 5 out of 5

One of the BEST butyl/beam tapes!

Built a dock (seawater) and needed additional beam protection as Southwest Florida can be cruel to wood (even pressure treated wood used in ship building). I tried three different brands before settling on this and let me tell you that I don't understand any of the reviews on it that say it doesn't stick. Unfortunately, people who don't think anything leave negative reviews because I almost missed them. So frustrating! Look folks, if this happens, YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG! Take a moment to wipe or brush away dust and dirt with a DRY cloth or broom. It seems crazy that I should point out that dust and dirt will give you problems. ALSO the instructions (yes, some of us read the instructions) state that prolonged direct exposure to sunlight can cause peeling. Guess what? Before taping the entire pier frame, I tested this tape on several sections of the pier joists and let it sit in the bright Florida sun for three days without peeling. The result was therefore better than claimed by the manufacturer. This is the SUPERB wood/butyl tape from the top 4 brands I've tried. Here are some tips on how to get the most out of this volume. BEFORE PIETING THEM, REMOVE PANES AND DIRT FROM THE JOIST WITH SOMETHING DRY. It won't take long, just some dust. Then, to be on the safe side, record SMALL SECTIONS AT A TIME. DO NOT TAP the entire deck/frame of the dock. Tape off one part, lay a deck, then attach another part and repeat the process. While I haven't had any issues with peeling, this can ensure that your tape is not exposed to prolonged exposure to sunlight as specified by the manufacturer.
