Review on Diskless Synology DiskStation DS418-4 Bay NAS for Enhanced Storage by Stanisaw Muter ᠌

Bought a few years ago for a much lower price than now. I use it as a home NAS, on which I store video, photos and a book library. I filled all the bays with 8 TB disks and combined them into RAID5, incl. usable capacity 24 TB (actually 21.5 TB, since the actual size of the HDD is 7.26 TB). The noise from the fans and HDD is quite noticeable, so if you are in a living room, you need to turn it off at night. Unfortunately, there is no setting to turn off the fan during periods of inactivity (as is done in the DS419slim model).
