I've been installing these on kitchen cabinet doors where the old hinges have lost their ability to keep the doors closed. At first, I was concerned that they would not hold well enough if installed in one direction, and too well in the other. What I've found is once I get the contact placement just right, the hold is too.I'm sort-of handy around the house (more-so than my husband.) and know my way around a drill. This is good as users will have to pre-drill pilot holes to place this hardware, but once you get the hang of it on the first one, the rest goes quickly.It should be noted that if a latch drops to the ground and breaks apart - as one did for me - it's easy to put them back together. Overall, a good set of sturdy latches for the kitchen, bath, and pantry.
