Review on Dico 50-4 Flap Nyalox Flap Kit: Small 4-inch Assorted Nyalox Flap Brushes, 3-Piece Set by Dave Sidhu

Like many others, I bought these brushes to scrape off charred wood. They did their job, but after only a few minutes of work, both the gray and orange brushes started shedding blades. Upon closer inspection, it turned out that the plastic hub had cracked, so that the pair of knives was not securely fixed. I requested a replacement kit as this happened the first time I used the brushes and to my chagrin the replacement kit had cracks on the brushes in exactly the same places (see photo, look carefully). Looks like there might be some quality control issues...anyway, I didn't want to wait for new replacements, so I came up with my own solution: driving a wood screw through the cracked portion of the bushing to secure it. And it worked! Since then I haven't lost a single blade. Needless to say, brushes shouldn't arrive broken (several times!), and I'd give five stars if I didn't have to fix them myself.
