Nylon wire brushes work best on charred wood.

Please put on your glasses. When I opened the box I found several loose brushes inside. At first I wasn't satisfied, but then I realized that it doesn't matter. Fragile brushes may come loose during use, so be sure to wear safety goggles. I am not a JOINER or a forest person. I am new to woodworking. I bought brushes to save on sandpaper. The project I'm working on was eating paper. The brushes worked really well on really tricky spots. Paper destroying stains. On softer, aged woods, brushes…

Does the job but is fragile

Like many others, I bought these brushes to scrape off charred wood. They did their job, but after only a few minutes of work, both the gray and orange brushes started shedding blades. Upon closer inspection, it turned out that the plastic hub had cracked, so that the pair of knives was not securely fixed. I requested a replacement kit as this happened the first time I used the brushes and to my chagrin the replacement kit had cracks on the brushes in exactly the same places (see photo, look…

Works great for Shou Sugi Ban!

I just completed a rustic Shou Sugi Ban table for my wife and I have to say these grinding wheels are fantastic! I used all 3 grit but ended up only using 80 and 120 as the higher grit circle took too long. This project was for an 8 foot table of 4-2x10 so there was plenty of wood to sand. I ended up buying a hammer drill so I could easily adjust the trigger and grind with both hands. It took a lot of effort and many hours of work, but it turned out amazing.
