Review on ASUS VG279Q1R Gaming Monitor - 1080P, 144Hz Refresh Rate, Tilt Adjustment, Built-In Speakers, Blue Light Filter by Pierre Lenard

Incredible monitor. If it works properly

I'm currently back using my old Samsung S24D300 which is 7 years old as I received it with no problems. Included. This product comes in a BIG BOX. In games you'll notice people instantly, while in games like APEX LEGENDS you'll be able to see them from afar and aim better thanks to enlarged images. It can run up to 144Hz at 1080p and AMD Freesync. Colors are vibrant and exciting, and response times are as good as you'd expect. It includes different presets for different types of games (although I only liked the default and RPG presets as FPS blurs and reduces contrast for FPS). It also comes with a built-in FPS counter that can be adjusted anywhere on the screen and a cursor for games that don't have one; although I find such features unfair to other players without them. It comes with a stand that can be easily raised so you can stay centered on the screen or rotate if you prefer more professional programming. BIG CON: My only issue with this product is that I had to return it. From the moment I took it out of the box; I had screen tears all the time; less noticeable when watching videos or games; but in everything else very annoying (remember old TVs without a good signal?) It improved a little by increasing the refresh rate from 60 to 100; but it was just annoying; In other words, this is the first failed part I've received in a while. I've been using mainly Samsung products for years because I've never had an outage or display issues like dead pixels etc. After reading the reviews it seems I'm not the only one with this problem. ASUS needs to better control the quality of its products. I will try to buy the same or a similar monitor in a few weeks but if the next one has problems I will choose a different brand. until 4K or VR become more mainstream.
