I have an old cord that has a handle and a tube that I want to replace so this drill bit will help get the new cord through to bring the old walls. I also bought extensions to go longer distances through existing walls. This takes some practice: since my first (horizontal) hole went through a pair of studs, I found difficulty getting through the second stud. I soon felt resistance, like digging into something solid. I checked the closet I was drilling behind and saw that I had accidentally drilled through the wall of the closet and no joist between two walls and my drill was wrapped in one of my hanging shirts! Oops. From now on, however, most of the drilling will be vertical, so I expect to get better at that. The drill itself does an excellent job on lumber.
