Review on Durable DEWALT Drive Socket Set, SAE and Metric, 1/4-Inch Drive, 25-Piece (DWMT73805) by Josh Dyer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I'm a manufacturer, not a mechanic. But I use my tools a lot and they are great.

Excellent set! Regardless of the price, it's just an added bonus. I like the thicker Dewalts grips (I've had 3/8" and 1/2" drive sets before) with a ratchet for all-day comfort. Especially on cold days, when arthrosis occurs, you don't have to clutch your hand so tightly. It also helps if you have to over-tighten the screw to pry it out (I know you don't do this with a 1/4" drive). The gearing is great and the handles are firm with very little movement so it's great in tight spaces. While I didn't add a mic or calipers to the jacks, they just look and feel thicker than most sets. I don't hesitate to make them shockproof (we all do), even if they aren't shockproof. That doesn't mean I'll be comfortable with a really stubborn/rusty nut. I really like the shelf that comes with it. It's a bit bulky, but great for popping in your box initially (in fact, I still use it) without the added expense of another outlet organizer. I just wish my 3/8 and 1/2 had come with them (they are coming now, I bought these sets a few years ago before this feature). had my fellow 1/2" Huskey Drive and later Cobalt freewheels "explode" to pieces. Are they as good as American-made "trucks" (e.g. Snap-on, Matco, Mac, Cornwell, etc.)? To be honest, I don't know. I love (and have been envied by other colleagues) the feel of ratchets, and at 1/5 the price of these brands of truck, they're worth it. better (in my opinion) cost, quality, filing options. Just great! I am a manufacturer / welder. Admittedly, I don't have a wrench/ratchet in my hand all day like a mechanic. But as often as I do, they do MORE than just great! hp I am also including an overview of the wrenches (again these were already included in the 1/2" and 3/8" drive ratchet sets). Wrenches work just like wrenches, which is something I really like about Dewalts. that they are slightly longer than usual, which gives extra torque. My 10mm wrench (which is the wrench I have in my hand 9 times out of 10 when I have a wrench in my hand) is the length of most 13mm wrenches. All wrenches are longer than normal, which can be a problem in tight spaces, but 90% of the time it's just extra comfort and torque. To be honest I can't say anything bad about Dewalt hand tools. .For those who are not professional mechanics, or for someone just starting out in the trade, a full set of standard and metric 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" ratchet wrenches can be purchased for less than $500 to be purchased!Even if you later switch to "truck" brands, Dewalt is not a waste of money.
