The security packages didn't convince me

Came out of the packaging with sand. They use sand as a weight for the reflectors, and it's held in place by a plastic plug. Apparently one of the plugs didn't hold. The reflectors are all scratched with sand. I am returning the item and am looking for something else. If they don't survive shipping, how long will they last in use?
