Review on πŸ”ͺ Kitchen + Home Mandoline Slicer: A Versatile 5-in-1 Slicer with Julienne, Waffle Cutter, and Safety Holder by Ashley Collins

Not for waffle maker

I was surprised by the high quality. It's very durable and I'm glad I bought it, but it's useless as a waffle cutter. As a utility mandolin/french opener it's without a doubt five stars, but as a waffle cutter it's a zero star. Cutting "waves" are too small. It makes great ridged chips like the Ruffles brand, but the waves of the cut aren't high enough for the second cut to cross the first cut for french fries waffles. You simply get a wavy chip with long lines at the top and bottom on the sides with no waffle pattern holes. If you want waffle chips to be thinner than any chips you've ever seen, you can crosshatch by setting the thickness to zero, but they don't come out well and are too thin to even be called chips . . Anyway, I'm trying to make waffle fries, not ultra-thin pieces of waffle chips. If you're looking for a really great adjustable mandolin, this is it. If like me you're looking for a waffle cutter, keep looking because this isn't it.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • No paint needed
