Deficits:The pins only retract roughly 1/4", this prevents you from using it on almost any nut, you have to use it on the head of the bolt as you can't push the socket down far enough to reach the nut.You have to hold the socket tight against the item you are attempting to use it on. The pin springs constantly try to push it off so you can't use it 1 handed. If you need a wrench on the other side (ie the nut side) you are out of luck as that takes 2 hands.On smaller objects you have to use the socket off-center or it doesn't have sufficient grabbing force to work. This is very annoying, it is hard to get it in place since you can't actually see the nut/bolt head you want to use it on.As you loosen or tighten and object it wants to rock side to side instead of firmly gripping the item. Since you have to apply force to keep the socket on this just aggravates the rocking side to side, making it awkward at best if the item is very long.Conclusion:For rounded off bolt heads it is fairly useful as it will grip the sides of the bolt head even if deformed or rounded off. Grips awkward items like "J" and "Eye" hooks. For most other uses it falls short of the "universal" socket idea. This is a decent socket for very limited uses, worth having in your tool box but it will not be the quick go to socket you would like it to be.
