I bought these bags to make nut milk instead of nylon bags. My idea is that if I want to use plastic to filter homemade milk, I can just buy it at the store. Not only do these cotton bags work great, but they cost a fraction of the price of other bags. The disadvantage is that the seams cannot withstand too much compression. I haven't had a single tear yet, but it looks like they won't last as long as a nylon bag. But at this price I can't complain. This is MUCH easier than using cheesecloth to filter milk. I've made about 5 batches of milk so far and there are no signs of cracking on the packaging; I just have to be careful when squeezing out the rest of the liquid. I have tried cheesecloth, steel strainer and this product to make nut milk so far. This is the easiest option of the three. Make sure to turn the bag inside out so the smooth part of the seam is on the inside. This makes cleaning considerably easier.
