Review on Continental ContiPremiumContact 5 215/55 R17 94V summer by Stanisaw Lem ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The quality is at the level, I am satisfied with everything.

Many write about tires forgetting to indicate the dimension and production . and this is important . I wrote a review after 2022 km of run in different conditions . So tire 205/55 r16 V91 (made in Germany). It's on the Jetta. Working pressure 2.2. (on the spare tire is 205/55 r16 H91, made in 2022 - I’ll say right away that the 2022 rubber is smoother to the touch, the German one is rougher - I didn’t find any other differences except for the speed index) The comparison will be with Dunlop Fastrespons, which was from the salon on the Jetta. I chose for a very long time between Conti 5, Dunlop Bluespons, Michelins . I spend 90% of the time on the N. Tagil-EKB track (for those who know the track it's easier to take a review). This, as well as a good price, played in favor of choosing this particular rubber. Balancing of all tires perfectly - 5-15 grams per wheel. Handling on Dunlop is sharper on a dry road . on a wet Dunlop quickly "floated", already at about 80 km / h on a water film (I'm not talking about deep puddles - all the rubber floats in them). Conti's handling is confident and predictable, but you still need to get used to small delays with a sharp change in course . problems in daily driving, and even more so in the city, this does not deliver . Noise - a key factor was when choosing rubber - because. cruising speed on the highway is 110-140 km / h, I didn’t want to listen to the rumble and noise - and therefore, on the reviews of other users, I chose this rubber. The rubber really doesn’t howl, it doesn’t buzz, it goes quietly - but it completely conveys the state of the coating under the car, it’s not audible in principle on fine asphalt (by the way, the noise on Jetts is not bad), coating noise appears on coarse asphalt. This is a good side of the coin in my opinion - you always clearly understand what kind of surface you are driving on and having studied the behavior of tires on different asphalts, you can afford high-speed maneuvers depending on the road . which is felt . As a result, the noise does not annoy, very good acoustic comfort . after a 500 km break-in, the noise became even quieter (well, or used to it)) In dry weather, you can drive confidently up to 160-180 . in the rain I don’t drive more than 130 . The city comfortably passes pits, policemen and rails . does not hit the suspension like Dunlop. I wrote a review only after I drove more than 2022 km and visited different road conditions in order to be a little more objective than the reviews after 100 km of run . which come across on this site too . In general, the tires are comfortable, manageable and, most importantly, predictable. The only negative is probably the price today (moreover, German ones cannot be found on sale yet, and 2022 ones all come with the H index) I recommend it for anyone who has a lot of time on the track . I really liked Dunlop too, except for the early aquaplaning. I’ll probably try Michelin Primacy or Sport 3 next tires. Let’s see what tire mileage will be for Conti5, many also keep this indicator in the red in their reviews .

Pros
  • Smooth ride, confidently walks on water
Cons
  • Handling, or rather the sharpness of reaction to steering movements
