Review on πŸ”Œ SparkFun Qwiic Shim for Raspberry Pi: Small Form Factor with Removable Friction-Based Connector, Stackable HAT for Quick Prototyping and I2C Integration by Sheppard Priest

so far so good - qwiic is I2C

I put this adapter under the display cover of my Raspberry Pi and it's worked great so far. You don't need any special drivers or exotic hardware, it's I2C with a nice little connector. It can work with Zio SSD1327 OLED display without any additional circuitry or external power supply. No special drivers. No soldering. This prevents silly mistakes like swapping power and signal pins. This makes projects modular and clear. This does not prevent you from using a different Rasper Pi Hat. The connection is also accessible from the side. I haven't had any connection problems so far. I like it!

Pros
  • The SparkFun Qwiic Connect system is an ecosystem of I2C sensors, actuators, screens and cables that speeds up prototyping and reduces errors. All Qwiic-enabled boards share a common 4-pin, 1mm pitch JST connector. This reduces the space required on the circuit board and thanks to the polarized connections you cannot wire anything wrong.
Cons
  • Lots of Stuff
