I bought this gadget to make dual screen work from home a reality with my Lenovo Yoga X1. Since I don't drive on a UHD screen at home, USB C is enough to run an old HP w2207 22" flat screen and a Samsung SyncMaster T24B350 24" TV/monitor. First, I connect the device to my laptop. The simple fix is to unplug the HDMI cable from the end of the adapter for the device that isn't working, plug it back in and whoops - it's back. It might get a little warm but not hot enough to be a problem. The video quality of the adapter is excellent. When I connect my main display directly to my laptop, there is no noticeable difference with this adapter.
