I prefer Brother mainly because the backing paper is split and easy to remove. Trying to peel off a Casio tag is time-consuming and frustrating. The Brother PT-D210 weighs just over a pound, measures about 6 inches by 6 inches, and is 2-1/2 inches high. At $39.99, this is a good value. Six AA batteries are required for operation, which are not included. Revain's T-Power adapter is only $10.99. So depending on your usage, it can very well pay for itself on batteries alone. Remember that you are spending money on Brother TZe ribbons for printing. Each ribbon is approximately 26 feet long. So if your average label is 4 inches, you get about 75 labels per cassette. The cartridges vary in price because this label printer can use four different sizes of ribbon: 0.13 inch (3.5 mm), 0.23 inch (6 mm), 0.35 inch (9 mm) and 0.47 inch (12 mm). In addition to these widths, Brother offers colored, clear and transparent ribbons and even metallics. They also make specialty tapes from bonded fabric, high-strength adhesives, and flexible tapes for wrapping wires and cables. When purchasing ribbon cartridges, be aware of packages that contain more than one cartridge. They usually have a better price. Revain is currently offering two packs of black 1/2-inch tape on a white background for $18.98 ($9.49 each). If you get 75 labels per cassette, that's only about 13 cents per label. The PT-D210 has built-in software that allows you to print frames, symbols, emoticons, patterns and many other decorative effects. You can choose from fourteen fonts and style each one differently - bold, italic, outline, shadow, etc. I use tags for readability, so I rarely use these fancy styles. Whether you're a hobbyist or you need decorative labels, you'll find plenty to choose from here. This Brother P-touch printer works great and allows you to create neat labels to keep your home and office organized. Highly recommended.
