Review on Garmin 650 4 3 Inch Portable Navigator by Nicholas Dobson

I've been using 650 for more than a month, it works right out of the box, the navigation seems accurate. Here are some features that need improvement: 1. Picks up the satellite signal slowly2. the interface is rather weak, the menu items are not very intuitive, for example there is no address book, you have to save your address in your favorites; "state" is incorrectly referred to as "county"3. Use branded charging plugs. I know we can charge it at home without spending another $40 on a home charger. Any charger with a mini USB port can charge the device, but the device will go into computer interface mode and you will not be able to use it at all while it is charging via the USB port. I had my own Magellan, I can charge it and still have access to the device to do whatever I want. Shame for Garmin to block this feature and force customers to buy an extra home charger. For that inconvenience alone I would give it one star.4. The antenna has to be flipped to activate the navigation, another bummer from Garmin, shame shame shame. The car charger is not directly connected to the block, but is stuck at the bottom of the block, a special nuance. Garmin would save money on manufacturing by only using USB for charging and communication. What I like: 1. Delete TTC2. sensitive touch screen3. fast response after satellite signal blockage Note to nüvi owners or prospective owners: You don't need to spend your hard earned money to buy a Chinese made POS charger, Garmin home charger, you can charge it via the mini USB Charging connection two ways. : i) connect to your computer's USB port when your computer is on; ii) Use any household mini-USB charger (most mobile phones and PDAs use this type of charger for charging) to charge your Garmin. That works fine.
