I'm a jeweler so a good heavy cotton apron is not only an essential tool for convenience but also a safety measure. This apron solves all the problems I've had with other aprons and adds extra features! 1. A cross strap on the back instead of a standard loop around the neck is enough to make this apron worth buying. No more weight hanging from your neck all day, no more knots on your back or in front of your stomach. No more pushing to the side and leaving half the front open. 2 - the material is a good strong thick canvas but still pleasantly soft. Is there a thicker canvas? Of course. But unless you're in a forge or some similar extreme environment, this should be generous enough. I'm 5'6", 175 pounds, so not huge, but it was surprisingly hard to find aprons that covered my chest and all of my knees when I sat on the bench. This apron goes up, reaches me in the Stands to my knees and hugs my legs at the sides. 4 pockets! So many pockets. I lost a few things in this apron but due to a stupid patch pocket I'm happy to take the problem. I'm still thinking about it buying one to replace my cute but neck-breaking baking apron I may have to buy 10 or so more too so I have a lifetime supply for all occasions in case they stop selling it it's that good
