I bought this as my first wood carving experience. The set is good and complete. The knife looks well made and sharp. The instructions and templates are helpful. I love that it even comes with a band-aid. My problem is the tree itself. The pieces I received are really difficult to cut in places. So much so that the knife stopped going in. I thought it might be a knife so I tried to sharpen it. nope I bought a new knife from a different brand. nope I thought maybe I'm just missing something, so I bought some lime pieces. It cuts so easily. My advice: skip this set, buy a good knife, a pack of basswood and grab a book or watch YouTube video tutorials. I'm glad I did and it hasn't put me off what seems like a great new hobby.
