I really liked this set

I bought this as my first wood carving experience. The set is good and complete. The knife looks well made and sharp. The instructions and templates are helpful. I love that it even comes with a band-aid. My problem is the tree itself. The pieces I received are really difficult to cut in places. So much so that the knife stopped going in. I thought it might be a knife so I tried to sharpen it. nope I bought a new knife from a different brand. nope I thought maybe I'm just missing something, so…

The perfect kit - has everything you need and more!

Wow! This is an amazing starter kit. It contains everything a beginner needs: 2 nice pieces of wood, 1 very sharp carving knife, 1 leather belt (for sharpening) and belt paste, detailed instructions on how to carve birds, how to sharpen the knife and how to complete the project. (Sanding and polishing) 1 roll of finger tape 5 strips of sandpaper (3 different grits) for sanding 1 bottle of beeswax polish and 3 plasters just in case. Practical knife, ideal for the hobbyist (and probably also good for the professional, especially for quick roughing)

Well it's not a knife that will replace all other knives (as I was secretly hoping) but it is a great wood carving knife. I'll always be an amateur and I don't think I'll ever spend money to be able to afford a full set of chisels, chisels, etc. However, within my limited skills, I can do almost anything I want with this knife. My first thought was that it was too short but after using it anyway, it's a bit too long (it's hard to make cuts in the indentations in the surface without accidentally
