Review on 🔒 August Wi-Fi Smart Lock (4th Gen) – Simple Installation on Your Current Deadbolt, Sleek Silver Design by Christopher Lance

I was *so* excited to install Wi-Fi SmartLock (which sounds weird as you type this). I pre-ordered this, installed it the same day it arrived and have had nothing but problems with it ever since. First, I have a solid WiFi setup in my house. Multiple Access Points (Unifi) installed within 20 feet of door. Despite the proximity, the Wi-Fi signal was too weak and I had to make changes to the Wi-Fi (increase signal strength) to allow the lock to connect at all. Note: This is the only device (IoT or otherwise) on my network that is having issues. However, I solved this problem and now the application reports a stable connection. Maybe 10 days after installing the lock, the batteries died. Ok cheap batteries that may have been lying around. I will order a pack of 6 new batteries that will last me a year. NOT CORRECT. I had to replace the batteries about every week. The lock is supposed to warn me when the batteries are low, but instead it just shuts off. I emailed support and received automated/AI responses resulting in the worst product experience I have ever had. I strongly recommend you to look elsewhere.
