I would plug it in but not before the correct cartridge leaked everywhere when I turned on the water. I had to remove the metal brace and bend it back so it wouldn't depress the pressure release button on the right side. For some reason the metal bracket only has a cutout on the left side for the pressure release button (see photo). However, both filter housings have pressure release buttons. If the metal yoke is slightly bent like mine, it will press directly on the pressure release button on the right side, causing water to squirt out when the water is turned on. Other disadvantages include a weak connector that connects two filter housings once. You remove the metal bracket and do not mark the inside and outside. You can figure it out by looking at the diagrams, but it really should be written right on the block itself. My old Kenmore had the inlet and outlet molded directly into the plastic housing. But even just printing on a metal bracket would be an easy addition that would make installation a lot less hassle. Although the instructions were fairly well written, they tried to cram too much into each circuit making them barely legible. And if your settings differ from the defaults at all, as in our case, the instructions don't provide enough context to figure out what to do. They also didn't provide troubleshooting instructions on what to do if water is leaking from the big red pressure release button at the top, although they considered other leak scenarios. On the plus side, the quick release buckles were easy to install with no plumbing skills required. .
