If you're like me, you have tons of USB devices like dongles, external hard drives, phones, tablets, etc. and you work with all those USB devices. can become a pain. If you don't mind having all your stuff plugged into the front of your computer, you'll have to get on all fours and fight dustballs to get to the back of your processor. God forbid when you get back there all your USB ports will be full. I used to use an El Cheapo hub that I bought for an end cap at a discount electronics store, but after a few months it found its final resting place somewhere in the cloud. I assume he ran out of electrons. Anyway, I digress. Bottom line, this is a good choice if you need a lot of USB ports. It's supposed to work with 12 devices, but the power pack will only run 10 at full capacity of 500mAh each, according to the power pack. This is a common complaint I see with multi-device USB hubs. I have two 2 terabyte external hard drives connected to the unit and can easily copy files back and forth between the two external drives as well as to my internal PC drives. Plus various phones, MP3 players and disc drives. (1) The USB ports are illuminated for easy connection of USB cables. If you've ever tried this under a table in the dark, you'll appreciate this feature. (2) There are switches to turn on/off 6 ports at the same time. I don't know if this does anything other than turning off the lights on 6 ports, but maybe it does. I don't think there's a manual, but it's pretty easy to hook up, just connect the power bank and plug the USB cable into one. end and the other into a "free" USB port on your computer. There is also a connector on one end to daisy chain another USB hub if you need more connectors. Not much to say other than that it works well and the price is in line with others in its class. If I have to buy another one I'll probably just buy one like this. The only thing you need to be careful of is using the correct USB connector on the end of the cable to connect to the computer. So if your cable doesn't fit, flip your device over and plug it into a different USB port. Based on the power supply rating, I wouldn't connect more than 10 devices unless you're sure they don't need the full 500mA as per the USB spec. So don't try to charge 12 phones with this device lol.
