Review on AA Products Universal Snowboard Vechicles by Jeremy Bradford

Yes, they are inexpensive, but you will pay for them.

I bought these and had high hopes from all the good reviews but the best part about my purchase was the seller's return policy as these shelves needed to be returned. Let me list the problems I encountered. First: installation. The posts came with standard stainless steel nuts which are almost useless in this situation. Anyone with half a brain will tell you that you need nylon threads. Lock nuts, because normal ones loosen immediately. So I bought some at the hardware store ($4 later for 12). Ok that's it, now it's time to install. What annoyed me the most was that the screws for the underside of the bracket were too long to tighten to the cross members, took forever and there are eight of them :-/ I finally installed them. Oh wait, they look cross-eyed. Well, there's not much you can do here since there's no way to adjust the angle of the reciprocating movement. Come on, they were cheap. Two: noise. It's awful, like someone rolling down a window at high speed or crashing the car next to you into some serious DnB sync. I thought it was my wife's imagination until I took it for a test drive. Yes, when we come back they will immediately detach from the honey. Do you remember those tormenting nuts and bolts? Yes, all 8. Three: locks. Yes you have already read this, these are locks in name only, they can be opened with any key or a flat head screwdriver. They offer safety while driving, so here's the thing. Final Thoughts On a positive note they kept the skis for a dry run to see if the skis going up changed the wind dynamics (not a bit) and I was confident they were ok in that regard. Remember you have to fully engage them for the locks to turn, no pansy, weak closing - it takes a little pressure for them to close properly and fully engage. So they came back and the seller happily accepted their return even after my Revain grace period ended and I am forever grateful to them for their no-nonsense approach.
