Review on HB 72 Tooth Extendable Ergonomic Portable by Michael Harden

This is one of the most unique ratchet and socket sets I have ever seen! It is evident that a great deal of attention has been paid to the design and manufacture of these instruments. First off, it's a ratchet grip head. It actually rotates, making it very handy for getting into those hard-to-reach places. At a 45 degree angle, you can use it like a wrench to tighten a loose nut or bolt before lowering the handle to tighten. This is the first ratchet I've seen with this design and it's beautifully made. The flat sockets are also very tight on the head of the ratchet and you can't get them out unless you press the quick release button. That way you won't drop the head when removing it from the nut or bolt like some other ratchet handles I've used. between a typical 3/8" ratchet handle and a 1/2" ratchet handle, giving you more torque. required in hard-to-reach places. Another unique feature of this set is the wide variety of heads that are included. On the metric side it goes from 8mm to 24mm and on the SAE side it goes from 5/16 inch to 7/8 inch. So this set of heads really covers a lot of the bases. It's almost a combination of 3/8" and 1/2" socket sets. to further develop a design pioneered by Craftsman many years ago. They were developed to give a good grip on worn or damaged shoes. They can be stored in a tool box or tool cabinet, or hung on the wall. The sockets are removed by turning to the right, then reinserted as far as they will go and fixed by turning to the left. A few days later, when they were hanging loosely on the wall of a closet next to my desk, I decided to wear them permanently. I removed the blue trim caps from each end of the posts and found a recess underneath. Once I drilled that out I was able to use screws to attach the uprights to the cabinet. This makes them very accessible as I like to keep a number of tools in my workbench for quick access. It looks to me like it was designed to be mounted that way if you want because the blue caps just snap on and off. To top it off, this set just looks good and professional. One thing that was a little confusing in the description was that they described the handle as aluminum. In fact, the only aluminum part of the ratchet handle is the sleek, ergonomic blue handle. The rest of the handle is CR-V steel, which also runs through the blue aluminum handle. I put a lot of torque on this handle and it's very strong! So I absolutely love this HB 3/8" Ratchet Handle/Socket Set and use it daily. Highly recommend and well worth the asking price!
