In divinity class we learned a method of making a fair assessment of what lies ahead. It was called "seat in life", which simply means "life situation". This cutting board may or may not be right for you depending on your needs in the kitchen (your situation). This cutting board is not suitable for those who often need to cut large vegetables such as a cabbage, turkey or whole chicken. However, this board comes in very handy when you need to cut fruit like strawberries, carrots or some chicken breasts. I'm probably stating the obvious when I say this, but that's why chopping boards come in different sizes. I really like the double-sided non-slip corners that keep the board stable and reduce the chance of an accident if the board slips and you cut with a sharp knife. Don't expect a ceramic sharpener to be the go-to sharpener for all your knives. This is just to give you a quick head start so you can finish your cutting board job. I am concerned about the durability of the plastic that houses the ceramic sharpener. Doesn't look very durable but time will tell. The cutting board itself is quite heavy and durable, and better yet, it's BPA-free. It comes with a limited lifetime warranty which means it is a quality product.
