I originally bought the Forerunner 235 but returned it. In the end I returned it for two reasons: - The main reason was that after a week the heart rate started to change slightly, for example 20-30 beats per minute more than it should have been. It went like this for a few days. Didn't want to troubleshoot as it was a refurb and why keep it when there's trouble coming soon. I hope that doesn't happen with Vivoactive. The Vivoactive HR has a simpler interface, a touchscreen, and more actions. The weird thing about Forerunner is that they arbitrarily limit activity options, while Vivoactive offers activities like swimming, walking, and even gardening. I really don't understand why the Forerunner is limited to such a small number of actions (e.g. no walk, no hike, no swim) when it costs nothing to activate them. If it was an option I couldn't understand it. I think Forerunner has more data views and menus, which only makes sense if you want or need all that data on your watch. I personally found the menu structure on the Forerunner more difficult to navigate than on the Vivoactive. Many more submenus and sub-submenus. The Vivoactive's touchscreen made it easier to navigate compared to the Forerunner, which has more side buttons. The only problem I had was the loss of connection between my Galaxy Tab and the watch. I couldn't reconnect via Bluetooth. I'm sure I can fix this issue as many devices can be a bit difficult to connect via Bluetooth. Garmin should learn something from Apple and standardize its "OS" while offering different hardware solutions. Having different menu options for different models makes it difficult to compare them, so choose the right model. How many customers have they lost because people bought watches that didn't meet their expectations.
