Worth the money for non-professional quality projects

I really like the Prismacolor dual-tipped brush pens which sell for $5.99 each. When I saw these water based brush tip markers for such a great price on Amazon I decided to give them a try. The colors are bright and beautiful. The brush tips of these markers are about 50% smaller/thinner than the dual-tipped pens and not as soft, which is much less like drawing and more like a somewhat flexible felt tip pen. The tips are sharp and thin enough to draw a very thin line with a firm hand. The target market for these markers are school children. When it comes to age, I think it really depends on the child. I have a 7 year old and a 4 year old that I don't allow to use these markers because they ruin the brush tips in 5 minutes or less. If you know your child is bad with markers, then I suggest you save a few bucks and buy a large, cheap $3 set from a big store that they can use 'til they break. On the other hand, if your child is already drawing in detail and is gentle with pencils, they will enjoy it. If I was given a set of these markers in high school I would be thrilled. and I was great at art. They're great for coloring manga or comics for adults or older kids, and they're a lot cheaper. Just be careful when coloring the same job with alcohol based pens as the ink from them may smear a bit when you put them on top. I am very happy with these markers. I just wish there were more colors.
