I've used one of these in a project where there wasn't much space. To make sure it would fit I made a paper template footprint of the board and then measured the highest component on the board (it was the capacitor). Since this panel was assembled in a steel base unit, I glued a couple of "standoffs" to the bottom corners of the panel and then hot glued the whole thing to the steel base. It worked great and there was no chance of a short circuit. The payment worked well. Adjusting the DC output voltage was easy. Just adjust the potentiometer with a small screwdriver. Using a voltmeter is beneficial to set the exact output voltage. The ability to vary the DC output voltage is a big plus when using small components.
