I use these hooks to set permanent dreadlocks myself. I was able to install my first dreadlock within 5 minutes of opening the Amazon package! The three tools are thin and strong, so the grip feels very precise to capture all those fine hairs. By the way I tried to find these hooks in 4 different hairdressers in my town, in 3 of them they are all run by non-black people, they looked at me confused when I described the hook.
