Review on Camco 21013 RV Straight Swivel Stik with Shutoff Valve - Powerful Waste Deposits Cleaning Action, Odor Control (40094) by Pop Henneghan

This is my story on how I feel about this Camco rotary knob. We are very experienced campers and know how to maintain a caravan. This year (2018) we decided to buy a newer (1998) Sunline Solaris. We checked this camper out while camping while everything was plugged in. The previous owner had connected a sewer hose to the campsite sewer pipe with the drain valves open. This camper is equipped with tank sensors, so I pressed every button. Was curious why the black tank showed 1/3 full. Didn't think anything of it and certainly didn't open (flush) the toilet to look straight into the black water tank. The very next day after we brought him home, we drove him to our favorite campsite. The tank still shows 1/3 full. A few days later it was read in full. I hooked up the honey truck to empty the black water tank (our campsite has no sewer connection, just 2 landfills). Again at 1/3. Long story short, the black tank didn't fall that much and was almost completely full. If you stick a coat hanger in the drain valve, the drain won't clean and you'll make an ugly mess. We barely survived the last day of camping. At home I filled a few ounces of Rid-X pro strength e-liquid. Leave it for almost 2 weeks. He ran a sewage hose to my septic tank. Opened the valve. Quite a bit of content extracted. Looked in the toilet to see it wasn't completely empty. The sensor says 1/3 full again. While the Rid-X was soaking wet, I ordered a Camco crank. It was delivered before I connected my camper to the septic tank. Hook the swivel rod to the garden hose, go into the camper, open the toilet flush lever to reveal the contents of the black water tank (the water was shut off in the camper itself), there is an on/off valve on the rod, rotated the lever, while the stick was down past the toilet and in the black water tank. Moved it up and down to try and get the water to spray as much of the inside of the rear tank as possible. Not much space for it, but every little thing helps. Leave the stick on for 5 minutes, turn it off. I opened the drain valve and noticed that a little more "crap" flowed out of the tank, but still 1/3. Close the release valve and spray the wand a few more times. I now have a "clean" black water tank. I really don't think there is a better way to clean the inside of a clogged black water tank. Just my experience. NOTE: This wand is used for toilets that are located directly above the black water tank and you can look directly into the tank when you open the drain valve. The stick does not bend to go down the drain at an angle. This stick has a very good design and serves its purpose very well. And in case you're wondering, my black water tank gauge is now showing "empty".
