Review on Fujitsu ScanSnap S1100i Mobile Scanner for PC/Mac by Daniel Haddo

Great speed, great software, great scanner

Hey everyone! This is my first video review. I don't usually do video reviews, but I wanted to show off the speed of the scanner and some cool features I found, especially since I couldn't find any other video reviews. a cheaper Brother branded scanner that cost a little over half the price of this scanner. But after receiving the product and using it for less than 10 minutes, I realized I made the RIGHT CHOICE! This scanner is great, but here are a few unique advantages: (1) it's fast and absorbs well; the speed at which a color document is scanned at 300/600 dpi is amazing, no more than 6 seconds? That's a huge improvement over my last scanner, the CannoScan LiDE 60 flatbed scanner. It was old anyway, so maybe not the best test. I love how it takes document by document to create a multi-page PDF. Which brings me to my next comment. (2) amazing software. I usually hate installing software from manufacturers because, to be honest, they are usually not very efficient and very bloated. And while the ScanSnap software is heavy (several hundred megabytes), what it can do makes it worth it. The software allows this product to do 'double scan', which allows you to take 2 small documents (e.g. business cards) and scan 2 AT THE SAME TIME, with the software recognizing each item as a separate scanned file. WOW. The software can also be ported directly to your complaints software for general archiving and card management, as well as Dropbox, Google Docs, Saalesforce, ABBYY. etc. (3) and simply more aesthetics. that thing looks beautiful. (Who doesn't like blue LEDs?) The only downside I have is that while it looks good, it's plastic and I worry at times that I'll tear off either the input tray or the guide tray. but it's more because I'm just clumsy. All in all a great purchase. If you want to move paperless (which is why I bought this one) this is the way to go. You get what you pay for!
