With three dogs in the house we have to find toys that will withstand the chewing of a 2 year old lab and of two older chihuahua mixes. Typically, a toy like this will last a few hours at most, and will be shredded if left alone with the dogs for the day. They all play rough, and witha variety of tooth sizes, it is hard to say which dogs do the most damage. While this toy did make it a little longer (after a week the ears were still attached and they had yet to discover it has a squeaker) the nose of the rabbit was torn off within 10 minutes of it coming out of the box. Once the nose had been removed, the little ones began systematically unpacking all of the poly-fill. Because the toy is packed so tightly, they often would be unable to pull any more fill out, when the Lab would step in and squeeze the toy until more fill came to the top. After a week of this, we decided it was unsafe for the dogs to play with this toy anymore, as they might choke on the fill.For the price paid, having suck a limited amount of time with the toy was disappointing. While the dogs did love it (literally to death), they were also easily able to destroy it, despite the promise of a reinforced toy.The ultimate verdict? Tuff Toy? Yes- but why not reinforce all the easily punctured bits? I expected better. 3 stars.
